In-Centre Hemodialysis Unit
Hemodialysis is a treatment that removes excess fluid and waste products which accumulate in the body as a result of kidney failure. In-centre and community hemodialysis are intermittent therapies, most often requiring 3 treatments per week for about 4 hours each time. The In-Centre Hemodialysis Unit at St. Paul's Hospital is the largest in British Columbia with 45 stations and a specialized hemodialysis team who provide ongoing care and treatment to over 300 patients.
